About
Who We Are
The Foundation for the Augmentation of African Americans in Film (FAAAF) champions Black and BIPOC storytellers through education, cultural programming, youth development, and annual film and television events. Our work uplifts artists, expands access to creative opportunities, and strengthens the cultural landscape across Washington, DC and beyond.
Programs
We provide education and training through Reel Kids, the Producers Institute, and our Community Partnerships. These programs support youth, emerging filmmakers, and creative learners across the region.
Events
FAAAF produces signature cultural events including the LightReel Film Festival, the Black Reel Awards, BoltsTV, and the Pantheon Awards. These events celebrate excellence in Black storytelling and highlight diverse voices in film and television.
Community Impact
Through workshops, youth engagement, school collaborations, and partnerships with cultural institutions, FAAAF expands access to filmmaking and strengthens the creative ecosystem in Washington, DC and beyond.
